REVIEWED: Xcentz Desktop Charging Station
With USB-C and fast-charge USBs, this 48W 5-port charger is handy for work trips
Are you always looking for power? If you travel with a smartphone, a tablet, headphones, dictaphone and more, it’s likely that time in your hotel room is spent making sure everything is ready for the next day. Cue the Xcentz Desktop Charging Station, which can refuel no less than five devices simultaneously.
Design & features
Weighing 225g, the Xcentz Desktop Charging Station is designed to stay put on a desktop thanks to a silicon bumper on its undercarriage. On its top are five USB slots; three USB-A each capable of recharging a tablet (as well as a phone) thanks for their 2.4V output, one USB-A that’s compatible with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 (this should be your standard slot if you own a compatible phone), and a USB-C with a super-fast 5V output for recharging newer phones and laptops.
Performance
Here’s a product that’s designed to deliver the fastest possible charge to all your USB devices, and that’s exactly what it does. You simply attach it to a wall socket (a cable with a US plug is supplied in the box). Meanwhile, that silicon bumper underneath stops it from sliding even when five gadgets are attached. It’s also got a multi-protection system that shields everything from overload, short-circuits, over-current and other charging issues.
