IFA GPC 2018: Latest luxury phone is ‘companion for worldwide travel’
This €1,550 dual SIM Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS phone boasts a dual SIM, Leica Triple Camera and 40 megapixel images

IFA GPC 2018, Rome: With a dual SIM, a big battery and a professional-grade camera inside, Huawei calls its latest luxury phone, the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS, a ‘companion for worldwide travel’.
A tie-up with Porsche Design, the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS features smooth curved edges, double-sided glazing, and a precisely crafted leather smart flip cover.
This dual SIM phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, has a Kirin 970 Chipset, 6 GB RAM and a 6-inch display. It stores a massive 256GB of photos and files, and has a quick-charge 4,000 mAh battery. That ought to get you through a long-haul journey.
And although this is a phone that will sell largely on looks and that big battery, it’s got a lot of the latest Huawei camera tech inside.
“People can use a professional camera, buy unless they have the knowledge go a professional photographers they will never anywhere near the same performance,” said Peter Gauden, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Huawei.
Inside the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is a Leica Triple Camera, a 40 megapixel sensor, and a 5x hybrid zoom, as well as lots of automatic scenario-recognition software that will tweak settings according to what you point your camera at. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS also has a low-light mode that can take four-second night-time shots, handheld.
