Three strange skateboards for city tours

Weird designs and the latest electric-powered weight sensors feature in this round-up of new skateboards

01 – Allrover Stair-Rover

Think skateboards can’t handle steps and stairs? Think again. An eight-wheel chassis gives this longboard the ability to do just that, making light work of curbs and cobbles, too.

02 – ZBoard 2 Pearl

The only weight-sensing electric skateboard around, the ZBoard 2 Pearl requires you to use your body to steer; lean forward to accelerate forwards, and lean back to stop. With a maximum speed of 20mph, it can keep going for around 24 miles. It’s also got front and rear lighting.

03 – Future Motion Onewheel+

If you’re ready for something truly mould-breaking, the single wheel of the Onewheel+ will appeal. A self-balancing electric skateboard, it may take some practice before you can ride confidently at its top speed of 19 mph, but this ‘street snowboard’ might be worth it.
