REVIEWED: Royal Robbins Double Cloth travel shirt
With a reversible design and poppers instead of buttons, this might be the ultimate travel shirt
If you travel smart, you wash and wear, and you take almost nothing with you apart from the clothes on your back, and a spare shirt. It’s not difficult to do once you get used to it, but after a while you do start to crave a little variety. Cue the Double Cloth, a travel shirt that is … reversible.
Doube-take
It actually took us a few hours to realise that the Double Cloth was actually two shirts in one. We were quite happy with the marmalade check design, principally because we had discovered that it was fastened only with poppers, not with buttons. It’s quicker to remove, but also faster to undo the cuffs for hitching-up sleeves. Poppers are the future.
Secret pocket
Then we found a ‘secret’ pocket on the inside. The concept soon clicked, and the Double Cloth was quickly thrown inside-out and re-worn. Lush! The inner design is completely different, with the only issue being a care label that has to be carefully picked-out to avoid damaging the shirt’s side-seam.
Versatile design
The style won’t be for everyone, but it’s very comfortable there’s no doubting the Double Cloth’s surprising versatility. What’s more, it dries quickly. Why did no one think of this before?
