REVIEWED: Asolo Tribe GV hiking boots

Technical, tough and fully waterproof, these boots were made for walking

Brown boots? Yeah, whatever. Navy blue boots? Now you’re talking. These exceptionally smart walking boots look fresh, yet classic, with a soft suede covering, waterproof Perwanger leather upper, and Gore-Tex lining making them great for all kinds of weather. They’re also some of the most comfortable boots we’ve worn.

Must-haves

It’s got all the usual must-haves for walkers, such as a waterproof Gore-Tex inner layer and a Vibram sole for great grip (we tried it in all weathers and on grass, mud, tarmac and rocky terrain with no issues), but the Tribe GV adds some excellent designs touches for walkers including a great quality leather upper and a wide, tough toecap that ought to extend their life beyond that of most walking boots.

Classic features

Warm yet lightweight, the Tribe GV boots also have a secure lacing system that’s old-school, yet classic; it stars working from almost over the toes, which is unusually (there’s even a loop on the tongue to keep it in position – a problem with many boots)). Build quality is excellent, too; unlike much of the competition, these super-serious walking boots ought to last for years.

Price as reviewed: £175
