REVIEWED: Proporta USB TurboCharger 7000

Adaptors a-plenty on this portable charger that’s good for three refuels of a smartphone

Proporta USB TurboCharger 7000Another big battery with two USB outputs (one labelled ‘low’ for smartphones, the other ‘high’ for tablets), Proporta’s TurboCharger 7000 is a stylistic success. This soft-to-the-touch matte black 7,000 mAh battery has rounded edges and weighs just 180g. At 119x73x12mm just a tad wider than an iPhone, it’s just about pocketable on a flight or long journey.

Easy to understand

As it charges-up via micro USB a line of four blue LEDS light-up, and vice versa when it’s discharging into a smartphone or tablet. There’s charging button that has to be pressed to start the job.

Two-thirds of a tablet

In our test we filled an empty iPad Mini 2 to 62% in three hours, though it’s capable of filling-up a couple of smartphones. As a nice bonus there’s a velvet-like drawstring bag to store the charger in, as well as a plethora of nibs that include Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Apple 30-pin, mini USB and – uniquely – two extendable cables, micro USB-USB (for charging-up the battery) and a USB-3.5mm jack (for attaching those nibs).

Price as reviewed: £39.95
