REVIEWED: Sony DSC-QX100
Make any phone or tablet into a top quality camera
An attachable lens-style camera, Sony’s DSC-QX100 is an attempt to make either a smartphone or – uniquely – a tablet into a top quality camera. The DSC-QX100, which is basically a small camera in itself, mounts to a smartphone or tablet (shown above with the Sonys Xperia Tablet Z, with the latter acting as the control device.
Wi-Fi & NFC
With Wi-Fi and easy pairing with any Android device via NFC one-touch, the DSC-QX100 offers a 20-megapixel images from an Exmor R CMOS sensor and an F1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens, which boasts a much wider aperture than any smartphone can.
Highly portable
It’s portable, weighing just 163g and measuring 62x62x56mm, but the killer app is certainly the DSC-QX100’s easy sharing of professional quality photos.
