PREVIEWED: Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
CES 2015, Las Vegas: novelty shaped tablet gets a ‘wide selfie’ or ‘groupie’ mode that could be useful for travel photos
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge this week got an update, and one that TravGear is expecting to see come to almost all phones and tablets; a wide-angle, improved resolution front-facing camera.
Better selfies
With travellers still obsessed with the selfie concept, the new Note Edge – famous for its sloped glass edge that can host menu items and ‘ticker’ news, sports results and share prices – now has a 3.7-megapixel front-facer with an f1.9 lens. It now has a default 90-degree shooting angle and can go up to 120-degrees.
Groupie shots
Although it’s sold as a ‘best for group shots’ feature, we’re thinking it could be useful for framing both your ugly mug and a lot more than usual of the interesting bit you’re were trying to photograph in the first place. It’s also got some camera shake-reduction tech.
