PREVIEW: IFA 2014 – Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 computer
IFA 2014 – This 5-in-1 laptop is a travel-friendly Windows 8.1 tablet, too
Live from the IFA 2014 trade show, Berlin, Germany
Not sure whether to take a laptop or a tablet? We’ve all been through that conundrum, especially before short trips, and most of probably end up taking both. Toshiba rightly thinks that’s crazy, so had create a laptop with an 11.6-inch screen that can twist around to create a flat touchscreen tablet, too.
The Radius 11 has a 360 degree hinge that can put it in five positions; clamshell, flat, tent-mode, tablet mode and kickstand, all of which serve a purpose from watching video to working normally on a laptop.
With 500GB of HDD goodness and 4GB of RAM, the Radius 11 appeared to us very malleable while also being sturdy enough. Measuring 289x199x19.9mm and weighing 1.3kg, its has a full-size click-pad and keyboard, and the touch-sensitivity was good. With HDMI, USB 3.00. USB 2.0 and an SD Card slot, it’s well prepared for travel.
