Rather large and weighty at 825g, these Nikons pair-up excellent optics with a waterproof design
Easy to operate and thoroughly advanced in terms of what you’ll see, these Nikons are great all-purpose filed binoculars. If you want to get away from a safari jeep and deep into the bush on a guided walk, we have two pieces of advice; always take a man (or woman) with a gun, and aim for a pair of binoculars no heavier than 800g.
Great for stargazing
The 10×50 specification is ideal for most people in terms of magnification and aperture since it gives you a field of view perfectly sized for encapsulating entire star clusters such as the The Pleiades and the Coat Hanger; you’ll get a bright, depth-filled view that a telescope just can’t match.
Lose-able lens caps
In the box is a huge nylon bag with belt clip and a good quality neck strap. Our only qualms are the 825g weight and the separate (and easy to lose) lens and eye caps. It’s a design flaw, but it’s not enough to put us off. Easy to operate yet offering advanced image quality, these are the binoculars to go for if you don’t want to spend a fortune – but you do want to get a terrific view of the night sky.
