REVIEWED: Salomon Comet 3D GTX walking boots
Lightweight, grippy and with a good-sized toe-box, these boots prove perfect for narrow feet
A narrow-fitting boot with a good-sized toe box, the Salomon Comet 3D GTX walking boots – which we tested in the women’s version, size 6 – are perfect for short hikes and walks.
Narrow victory
Most people with narrow feet buy boots that are too small for them, resulting in stubbed toes when walking downhill. The width of this boot allows the wearer to have the correct size, which means a good-sized toe-box – and no more stubbed toes. Using the Salomon Comet 3D GTX walking boots over just a couple of weeks even helped me correct my gait, solving a long-term problem I’d had with my knees.
Tight fit
Our only criticism is that the tongue is a bit narrow. However, during the test, this had zero impact on the comfort of the boots. In fact, the lacing mechanism on the Salomon Comet 3D GTX walking boots are impressive, with several options for achieving a tight fit.
Lightweight
Weighing an impressively lightweight 543g each, the Salomon Comet 3D GTX walking boots for women come in two colors – grey/green or black/purple.
Great support
For women with slightly narrower feet, these boots provide perfect support for ankles, keeping the heel completely still while walking – both over rocky terrain and during ascents and descents.
