REVIEWED: Gregory Z25 rucksack
A built-in rain cover, stash pocket for a coat and a ventilation area make this 25-litre rucksack ideal for the trail
Price at time of review: £89.99
Offering 24 litres, it weighs 1.1kg, most of which is caused by its off-the-back ventilation system; carrying heavy loads is surprisingly easy and we love its lower back pads.
Stash pocket
The top has a stash pocket, there’s a built-in rain cover and side compression buckles, and the sides sport those all-important mesh pockets for carrying water, etc.
Male on the trail
Designed for the trail, the tough and well made Z25 has an excellent hipbelt that’s fitted with tiny pockets (designed for a knife, torch and walker’s whistle, though perfect for sweets and gadgets), though its front pocket needs some attention; stretching out and overlarge, it’s rather cumbersome though can be tightened using the compression buckles.
Comfy but heavy
Great for a loose fleece, it’s the perfect pocket for stashing a pair of shoes – not something that most daysacks offer – but this is a relatively heavy option considering the capacity.
