Looking for a pack for a man-size back? This XL-grade daysack is a great all-rounder for ultra-lightweight and overnight travel
Price as reviewed: £36
Designed specifically for people with long backs, this daysack is XL only in name. At just 22 litres it weighs just 780g, making it one of the lightest around.
Ventilation without the curve
Ventilation is limited to perforated foam pads, though they’re softer than most and only support the shoulder blades, with a gap between to keep the pack off the centre of your back. The use of pads rather than a raised mesh avoids a curved interior and cuts-down on weight.
Sweaty back syndrome
Although it works reasonably well, it’s not going to stop a sweaty back in high humidity. It’s well made, with good quality zips, compression straps, a waist belt that’s removable (do so – it’s too small to take any strain, so pointless), with a tough outer layer and plenty of pockets – including pen sliders and a compartment with top access.
Walkers & trekkers
Created with walkers and trekkers in mind, it makes a great daysack for ultra-lightweight or simple overnight travel in cooler climes, though it’s not recommended for humidity.
