As a simple a cover for the MacBook Air you’ll not find, and yet the Tech 21 Impact Jacket Leather Case is complicated stuff. Filled with shock absorbing D3O material, it provides a bump-proof cover that – together with rich leather – is great for travelling with. It’s just so slim.
Smooth leather
Weighing a mere 255g, the 225x320x12mm Tech 21 D3O Impact Jacket Leather Case for MacBook Air comes only in black. Smooth, black leather that’s easy to slip into and out of bags, rucksacks and the backs of airline seats.
Grips tightly
It grips tightly to a MacBook Air and while there is a little slippage when the laptop is unfurled into working positions, there’s far less of a gap that on most covers. As snug a fit as you’ll find, the corners have some give in them and there’s no chance of anything snagging on the mouse pad. There’s even a cutout for the camera up top, though it’s not really needed.
Luxury feel
A soft microfibre lining to the Tech 21 D3O Impact Jacket Leather Case for MacBook Air extends a luxury feel, though after about six months of constant use we did notice some slight fraying around the (now softened) inside edge of the interior corner flaps. Nevertheless, this is a low-profile, slim solution for protecting a MacBook Air – and it completely disguises that you;re carrying a £1000+ laptop, too.
